Road transportation
• Transportation of the body to Russia and the CIS:

Regardless of the mode of transportation (aircraft, road transport), delivery of cargo 200 is a highly responsible task, complex both documentarily and organisationally.
This procedure requires compliance with specific conditions (storage, transportation of the body) and involves the preparation of numerous permit documents for the transportation of cargo.
Vietnam stretches over 3,000 kilometres along the South China Sea coast and is home to more than 97 million people. The capital Hanoi (Hà Nội, approx. 8 million residents) serves as the political and administrative centre, while Ho Chi Minh City (Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, formerly Saigon, over 9 million) is the commercial hub of the country. For Belarusian and Russian travellers, Vietnam has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in Asia: the coastal resort of Nha Trang (airport CXR) and the island of Phu Quoc (airport PQC) welcome hundreds of thousands of Russian-speaking tourists every year. Da Nang (airport DAD) is equally well-travelled. When death occurs abroad — through accident, sudden illness, or medical emergency — the family is immediately faced with a foreign bureaucratic system, language barriers, and a tropical climate that demands urgent action. Repatriation.by has been managing international body repatriation since 2009, including from Vietnam to Minsk and all Belarusian cities. We are available 24/7 at +375 29 314-59-59.
Exporting human remains from Vietnam requires navigating a multi-layered administrative process administered by the Vietnamese state. The first document required is the death certificate (giấy chứng tử), issued by the District People's Committee of the jurisdiction where the death occurred. Embalming must be carried out by a licensed Vietnamese funeral establishment (nhà tang lễ) — this is a mandatory prerequisite for international transport. The body is then placed in a hermetically sealed zinc coffin, which is encased in a wooden crate in accordance with ICAO/IATA standards for the transport of human remains by air. Vietnam is not a signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention; consequently, all documents require full consular legalisation — processed through the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and subsequently certified by the Embassy of Russia in Hanoi or the Russian General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City. An export permit must also be obtained from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health. Our team coordinates the entire documentation process on your behalf.
Repatriation flights from Vietnam to Minsk (MSQ) operate with at least one transit stop. Vietnam Airlines offers connections via Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO), from where the cargo is transferred to a Minsk-bound flight or transported overland. Other available routes include connections via Doha (Qatar Airways), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), or Dubai (Emirates). Aeroflot routes, where available, are also considered. Travellers originating from Nha Trang (CXR) or Phu Quoc (PQC) will typically connect via an internal Vietnamese flight to Hanoi (HAN) or Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) before the international leg. The distance from Hanoi to Minsk is approximately 6,800 kilometres, corresponding to roughly 9 hours of flight time exclusive of transit. Accounting for documentation processing and logistics coordination, the total repatriation timeframe is typically 2–3 days from the moment all paperwork is finalised. The zinc coffin in its wooden crate travels in the cargo hold under strict ICAO compliance.
Vietnam operates on Indochina Time (UTC+7), which is 4 hours ahead of Minsk (UTC+3). Our coordination team is available around the clock — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — via phone, WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram at +375 29 314-59-59. We coordinate in Russian and English; Vietnamese-speaking partners are engaged locally to liaise with authorities and funeral homes. Vietnam is a predominantly Buddhist country with deep-rooted ancestor veneration traditions; for many families, returning the deceased to the homeland for burial near family is a matter of profound cultural and spiritual importance. We approach every case with full respect for these traditions. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Hanoi is located at 58 Tran Phu Street; the Russian General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City is at 40 Nguyen Van Troi Street. Both missions are involved in the consular legalisation process.
The cost of repatriation from Vietnam is calculated individually, taking into account the city of departure (Hanoi HAN, Ho Chi Minh City SGN, Nha Trang CXR, Phu Quoc PQC, or Da Nang DAD), the chosen flight route, the scope of documentation required, and any additional services. All work is performed under a formal contract with no hidden fees or surcharges. An initial consultation is provided free of charge. We also coordinate directly with travel insurance companies and tour operators where applicable, helping you obtain reimbursement for eligible expenses. If a tragedy has occurred in Vietnam, do not hesitate to call us at +375 29 314-59-59 — we will take care of the logistics and administrative burden so that you can focus on your family during the most difficult hours. Repatriation.by has accompanied hundreds of families since 2009, and we treat every case with the care and gravity it deserves.
Required documents include: the death certificate (giấy chứng tử) issued by the District People's Committee, medical cause-of-death documentation, an embalming certificate from the funeral home (nhà tang lễ), an export permit from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, and full consular legalisation of all documents through the Vietnamese MFA, confirmed by the Russian Embassy in Hanoi or the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam is not a Hague Convention member — apostille does not apply. We manage the entire documentation process.
Yes, both are mandatory. Vietnamese law and ICAO/IATA international regulations require that the body be embalmed and placed in a hermetically sealed zinc inner coffin, which is then enclosed in a sealed wooden outer crate. This is especially important given Vietnam's tropical climate and the multi-day duration of the transport. Embalming is carried out at a licensed Vietnamese nhà tang lễ (funeral establishment); we coordinate this through our local network of partners.
Once all documents are finalised, delivery to Minsk (MSQ) typically takes 2–3 days. The flight itself is approximately 9–14 hours depending on the route and transit hub (Moscow, Doha, or Istanbul). The majority of the time is spent on administrative processing within Vietnam: obtaining clearance from the People's Committee, securing the Ministry of Health export permit, and completing consular legalisation. We work to minimise delays at every stage.
The cost is calculated individually based on the departure city (Hanoi HAN, Ho Chi Minh City SGN, Nha Trang CXR, Phu Quoc PQC, Da Nang DAD), the selected flight route, the documentation scope, and any additional services required. There are no hidden charges — all work is contract-based. A free initial consultation is available. Call +375 29 314-59-59 and we will provide a detailed cost estimate for your specific situation, including coordination with travel insurance if applicable.
We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call or message us at any time: +375 29 314-59-59. We accept calls and messages via WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram on the same number. Please note the time difference: Vietnam is 4 hours ahead of Belarus. If you are calling from Nha Trang or Ho Chi Minh City at 8:00 a.m. local time, it is 4:00 a.m. in Minsk — but we will answer regardless of the hour.
