Main airports: Podgorica (TGD) operates year-round, Tivat (TIV) mainly in summer. Our Montenegrin partner delivers the coffin by hearse to any point in the country within 1 to 3 hours thanks to Montenegro's compact size.

In Belarus: ZAGS death certificate, medical report, infection-free statement, Ministry of Health export permit, embalming certificate, zinc sealing certificate, MFA apostille. In Montenegro: sanitary inspection import permit, documents from the receiving pogrebno preduzece and confirmation of burial rights at the municipal cemetery. All Belarusian documents are translated into Montenegrin/Serbian (Cyrillic or Latin) with notarisation. We prepare and deliver the full package.

The air route through Istanbul or Belgrade with ground delivery takes 4 to 7 business days. ZAGS paperwork and the MFA apostille 1 to 2 days, preparation and sealing one day, the flight 20 to 40 hours, Montenegrin customs and delivery another day. A hearse drive through Poland, Hungary and Serbia takes 4 to 5 days and is sometimes chosen when flight connections are poor or the destination is a small mountain village in northern Montenegro.

The final price depends on the city, cargo weight, season (summer Adriatic flights are pricier) and chosen route. The base Minsk-to-Podgorica estimate covering paperwork, zinc coffin, airfare and ground delivery starts at a figure we quote during the first call. The cost is locked in the contract. It covers airport fees, translations, customs and the Montenegrin partner. Podgorica is usually cheaper in winter; Tivat is cheaper in summer for coastal destinations.

Yes. A zinc coffin is mandatory under the 1937 Berlin Arrangement and Montenegrin sanitary regulations. The zinc is hermetically sealed in the presence of a sanitary officer at the Minsk morgue, with a sealing and contents certificate issued. A wooden crate protects the coffin during handling. All Belarusian certificates accompany the cargo to the Montenegrin airport and are handed to the pogrebno preduzece on acceptance. Without the full package, TGD or TIV customs will not release the cargo.

The apostille on ZAGS documents is affixed by the Main Consular Department of the Belarus MFA in Minsk, 19 Lenina Street. Standard turnaround is 1 to 5 business days, expedited to one day for urgent repatriations. Belarus and Montenegro are both Hague Convention parties and the apostille is recognised directly. We obtain it under a notarised power of attorney from relatives — one notary visit suffices; we handle everything else.

A companion travels on a separate passenger ticket, usually on the same flight via Istanbul or Belgrade. Passengers are not admitted to the cargo hold per ICAO rules. Belarusian citizens enter Montenegro visa-free for 30 days — this makes accompaniment very simple: a passport and a ticket are enough. We help with flight bookings, airport assistance in Minsk and meeting the coffin at Podgorica or Tivat airport.

For Belarusian citizens no visa is required for Montenegro — visa-free entry for up to 30 days on a passport. This greatly simplifies accompaniment and participation in the funeral. For foreigners residing in Belarus, entry terms depend on citizenship — most European nationals also enter visa-free. We consult every family individually and help with visas for relatives from countries under a visa regime with Montenegro when needed.

When a passport is missing, identity is established through the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs via fingerprints, migration databases or a statement from relatives with supporting papers. For foreign nationals the consulate of their country of citizenship — the Montenegrin embassy serves Belarusian applicants via neighbouring countries or directly — helps in parallel. We guide the family through every step: police report, ZAGS duplicates, archive requests. The process takes 3 to 10 days; afterwards paperwork proceeds normally.
