Is a zinc coffin mandatory for Morocco?
Yes, a sealed zinc coffin is mandatory under IATA HUM international transport standards and Moroccan sanitary rules. However, Maliki madhab tradition buries the body without a coffin — only in a shroud (kafan) facing Mecca. Therefore, in Casablanca before burial the coffin is opened, body washed (ghusl), wrapped in shroud and transferred to the cemetery. The Belarusian sealing certificate is recognized by all transit countries and Moroccan sanitary services.
How to obtain an apostille in Belarus for Morocco?
The apostille is issued by the Belarus MFA, 19 Lenin Street, Minsk. Originals of ZAGS certificate, medical certificate, sanitary permit, embalming act are submitted. Standard 2 business days, expedited — 1 day. Morocco is a Hague Convention member since 2016, so apostille is sufficient and consular legalization is not required.
