Road transportation
• Transportation of the body to Russia and the CIS:

Regardless of the mode of transportation (aircraft, road transport), delivery of cargo 200 is a highly responsible task, complex both documentarily and organisationally.
This procedure requires compliance with specific conditions (storage, transportation of the body) and involves the preparation of numerous permit documents for the transportation of cargo.
Belarus and Moldova are bound by shared history, labour migration and numerous family ties dating from Soviet times. Moldovan citizens live and sometimes pass away in Belarus — construction workers, medics, students, retirees who moved in with their children. Our agency organises body repatriation from Belarus to Moldova end to end, benefiting from simplified CIS procedures. The route is built by road through Ukraine or, if impossible, via Poland and Romania — both options are well-established and executed within tight timelines.
Documents are prepared in Minsk. The district ZAGS issues the death certificate based on the forensic opinion of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations. We obtain the sanitary passport, embalming certificate and zinc-coffin sealing certificate. Under the 1993 CIS Minsk Convention the Moldovan side recognises Belarusian documents without apostille; however, for transit through Romania (an EU country) we obtain an MFA apostille. Documents are duplicated with Romanian and English translations; Russian is widely understood in Moldova as a language of inter-ethnic communication.
There are no direct flights from Minsk to Chișinău at present. The main route is road via Poland and Romania with entry into Moldova through the Sculeni or Leușeni border crossing. The Minsk–Chișinău distance is about 1500 km, travel time 35–45 hours with border formalities. An alternative is air transit via Istanbul (Turkish Airlines, IST–KIV), Vienna (Austrian) or Warsaw (LOT), total flight time 9–14 hours. The zinc coffin is sealed in Minsk and placed in a wooden outer crate marked «Human Remains».
On arrival in Chișinău (KIV airport or a land crossing) the shipment is met by our Moldovan partner. Customs clearance with an apostilled death certificate takes 2–4 hours. The body is then transferred to a funeral home in Chișinău, Bălți, Cahul, Orhei, Soroca, Tiraspol (Transnistria — when possible), Comrat (Gagauzia) or other localities. Burial is available by Orthodox (Moldovan Orthodox Church), Catholic or Jewish rite. Cremation is available in Chișinău.

Average lead time 5–8 working days. We accept bank transfers and work with insurers. The main point of arrival is Chișinău International Airport (KIV). From there a partner funeral home hearse transports the body to the selected funeral parlour or cemetery.
In Belarus: ZAGS death certificate, forensic opinion of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations, embalming and zinc-sealing certificates, sanitary export passport, MFA apostille (for EU transit reliability). In Moldova: laissez-passer mortuaire, Romanian translation, clearance from the Moldovan Ministry of Health and coordination with the local primărie. All translations are prepared in advance.
The full cycle is 5–8 working days. Documents with MFA apostille take 2–3 days, body preparation and zinc-coffin sealing one day, flight or route booking one day, the flight with transit via Istanbul/Vienna 9–14 hours, customs in Chișinău 2–4 hours. Road transport via Poland and Romania takes 35–45 hours. Urgent cases can be compressed to 4–5 days.
The price depends on the chosen mode (air or road), destination city, weight, embalming requirements and urgency. We quote a fixed price with no hidden fees and lock it into the contract. It includes the sealed zinc coffin, wooden outer crate, embalming, full paperwork, MFA apostille, Romanian translation, transport, customs and handover in Moldova. Yes, international transport of human remains to Moldova is performed exclusively in a hermetically sealed zinc coffin prepared at a certified ritual facility in Minsk. The zinc coffin is placed in a wooden outer crate labelled «Human Remains». We issue an official sealing certificate, signed by the technician in charge, presented to sanitary and customs authorities in Belarus, transit countries (Ukraine, or Poland/Romania) and Moldova.
Formally under the 1993 CIS Minsk Convention, an apostille for Moldova is NOT required — Belarusian ZAGS documents are recognised directly. However, given transit through Poland and Romania (EU countries requiring apostille), we recommend and obtain an MFA apostille. This ensures smooth passage through all customs and border posts. Our lawyer obtains the apostille in 1–2 working days.
Yes, an accompanying relative travels on the same flight or in the hearse. Belarusian citizens can enter Moldova without a visa for up to 90 days. For transit through Poland and Romania a Schengen Category C visa is required. For air transit via Istanbul — Turkish transit visa or visa-free transit (up to 24 hours without city entry). We assist with all visas, provide invitations and a copy of the death certificate.
Belarusian citizens can enter Moldova without a visa for up to 90 days in 180 — one of the advantages of this direction. For transit through Poland and Romania a Schengen visa is needed (Romania is not in Schengen but accepts multi-Schengen for transit). For air transit via Turkey a Turkish visa is required (online e-Visa in 5 minutes). For bereavement reasons all visas are processed on a priority basis.
