Road transportation
• Transportation of the body to Russia and the CIS:

Regardless of the mode of transportation (aircraft, road transport), delivery of cargo 200 is a highly responsible task, complex both documentarily and organisationally.
This procedure requires compliance with specific conditions (storage, transportation of the body) and involves the preparation of numerous permit documents for the transportation of cargo.
Tunisia is a North African Maghreb country with active ties to Belarus through tourism and education. We are approached by families of Tunisian medical students in Minsk and Gomel; Tunisian hotel industry workers and project managers; and mixed Belarusian-Tunisian families. Muslim funerals in Tunisia are conducted per Maliki madhab requiring burial within 24 hours. Repatriation from Minsk to Tunis is a regular route. We deliver the body from Minsk-2 airport (MSQ) to Tunis-Carthage International Airport (TUN) with maximum speed and coordination with Tunisian authorities and imams. 24/7 family support.
Documents in Belarus: medical death certificate from the State Forensic Committee, ZAGS certificate, sanitary service permit, embalming act, zinc coffin sealing certificate. Belarus MFA apostille is mandatory. Tunisia is not a Hague Convention member, so consular legalization is required via the Tunisian Embassy in Moscow (no embassy in Minsk). Translations into Arabic and French by a sworn translator. For Muslim funerals — a certificate from the imam of the deceased's faith and a letter from the Tunisian family indicating the cemetery location (maqbara in the home town).
Logistics from MSQ to Tunis (TUN) via European hubs. Turkish Airlines from Minsk via Istanbul (IST), then Turkish Airlines or Tunisair to Tunis; total 8–14 hours. Alternatives: via Paris (CDG) Air France, via Frankfurt (FRA) Lufthansa, via Rome (FCO) ITA, via Vienna (VIE) Austrian Airlines, transferring to Tunisair. Tunisair operates from all major European capitals. For urgency — fastest route via IST. Human remains are processed as IATA HUM. Zinc coffin is sealed in Minsk, in a wooden crate with HUM marking in Arabic, French, English.
Reception at Tunis-Carthage airport (TUN) is organized by our partner funeral home in Tunis in coordination with the Russian Embassy in Tunisia (Belarus has no separate embassy — Belarusian citizens' interests are represented by the Russian consular department). Customs formalities 2–6 hours. After release the body is delivered to a mosque for janazah prayer, then to the cemetery. Delivery is possible to any Tunisian region: Tunis, Sfax, Sousse, Kairouan, Bizerte, Gabes, Hammamet, Monastir. Muslim burial — body in shroud (kafan) without coffin, facing Mecca, per Maliki madhab.

The 24-hour sharia rule in international repatriation is practically unfeasible. Usually burial can be arranged in 48–72 hours. Express: work immediately after the call, ZAGS at night, first business day — Belarus MFA apostille and Tunisian consular legalization in Moscow in 1 day with urgency fee. Embalming and sealing — 6 hours. MSQ-TUN flight via Istanbul — 8–12 hours. Tunis customs — 2–6 hours. Then mosque and cemetery the same day.
The cost depends on airline (Turkish, Tunisair, Air France, Lufthansa) and urgency. Base price includes: embalming, zinc coffin with sealing, wooden crate, Belarus MFA apostille, Tunisia consular legalization, HUM airline ticket from MSQ, transit fees, TUN meeting, customs, delivery to mosque and cemetery. Yes, a sealed zinc coffin is mandatory under IATA HUM international transport standards and Tunisian sanitary rules. However, per Maliki madhab the body is buried without a coffin — only in a shroud (kafan) facing Mecca. Therefore, in Tunisia before burial the coffin is opened at the mosque or cemetery morgue, body washed (ghusl), wrapped in a white shroud and transferred to the cemetery (maqbara). The Belarusian sealing certificate is recognized by all transit countries and Tunisian sanitary services.
The apostille is issued by the Belarus MFA, 19 Lenin Street, Minsk. Originals of ZAGS certificate, medical certificate, sanitary permit, embalming act are submitted. Standard 2 business days, expedited — 1 day. Since Tunisia is not a Hague Convention member, apostille alone is insufficient — consular legalization at the Tunisian Embassy in Moscow (no embassy in Minsk) is required. We handle the entire procedure including courier delivery to Moscow, on priority mode.
