Road transportation
• Transportation of the body to Russia and the CIS:

Regardless of the mode of transportation (aircraft, road transport), delivery of cargo 200 is a highly responsible task, complex both documentarily and organisationally.
This procedure requires compliance with specific conditions (storage, transportation of the body) and involves the preparation of numerous permit documents for the transportation of cargo.
Albania has recently become a popular destination for Belarusian tourists as well as a place of residence for mixed Albanian-Belarusian families and international-company employees. Occasionally there is a need to repatriate a deceased person from Belarus to Albania — ethnic Albanians who passed away in Minsk, Belarusian spouses of Albanian citizens, or businesspeople whose families live in Tirana. Our agency organises such international transfers end to end, accompanying the family from body collection to handover to an Albanian funeral home at Tirana Airport.
Documents are prepared in Minsk. The district ZAGS issues the death certificate based on the forensic opinion of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations. In parallel we obtain the sanitary passport, embalming certificate and the zinc-coffin sealing certificate. The certificate is translated into Albanian and English, notarised and apostilled at the MFA of Belarus. Albania has been a Hague Convention member since 2004, so the Belarusian apostille is recognised without additional legalisation at the embassy, which speeds up the case significantly.
There are no direct flights from Minsk to Tirana. Typical routings are Turkish Airlines via Istanbul (IST–TIA), LOT via Warsaw, Austrian via Vienna, Lufthansa via Frankfurt or Munich. Total travel time is 8–14 hours including the transfer. An alternative is a road transfer through Poland, Hungary, Serbia and Montenegro to Tirana (about 2500 km, 48–60 hours). The zinc coffin is sealed in our Minsk facility and placed inside a wooden outer crate marked «Human Remains»; documents are duplicated in Albanian and English.
On arrival at Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa (TIA) the shipment is met by our Albanian partner. Customs clearance with an apostilled death certificate and sanitary passport takes 2–4 hours. The body is then delivered to the selected funeral home in Tirana, Durrës, Shkodër, Vlorë or another city. Burial is available by Muslim, Orthodox or Catholic rite — all three denominations are present in Albania. Cremation is rare locally; when needed we arrange it in neighbouring countries.
Our dispatch desk operates 24/7. Call +375 29 314-59-59 for a fixed all-inclusive quote covering the zinc coffin, embalming, documents, apostille, air transport and handover in Albania. The average lead time is 5–7 working days. We accept bank transfers and work with insurers. We communicate in Russian, Belarusian and English, help with invitation letters for accompanying relatives and guarantee a dignified arrival of your loved one at their final resting place on Albanian soil.
We deliver to all major Albanian cities: Tirana, Durrës, Vlorë, Shkodër, Elbasan, Korçë, Berat, Gjirokastër, as well as coastal and mountain towns. The main point of arrival is Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa (TIA). From there a partner funeral home hearse transports the body to the selected parlour or directly to the cemetery in accordance with Muslim, Orthodox or Catholic rite.
In Belarus: ZAGS death certificate, forensic opinion from the State Committee of Forensic Examinations, embalming and zinc-sealing certificates, sanitary export passport, MFA apostille. In Albania: laissez-passer mortuaire, Albanian and English translations, clearance from the Albanian Ministry of Health and coordination with the local municipality. We prepare every translation and legalisation in advance for seamless clearance on both sides.
The full cycle averages 5–7 working days. Documents with the MFA apostille take 2–3 days, body preparation and zinc-coffin sealing one day, flight booking one day, the flight with transit via Istanbul, Vienna or Warsaw 8–14 hours, customs in Tirana 2–4 hours. A road transfer via Serbia and Montenegro takes 48–60 hours in motion. Urgent cases can be compressed to 4 days.
The price depends on the chosen route (air or road), carrier, weight, embalming requirements and urgency. We quote a fixed price and lock it into the contract — no hidden fees. It includes the sealed zinc coffin, wooden outer crate, embalming, full paperwork, MFA apostille, Albanian translation, airfare, customs and handover in Tirana. Call +375 29 314-59-59 for an individual calculation.
Yes, international transport of human remains to Albania is performed exclusively in a hermetically sealed zinc coffin prepared at a certified ritual facility in Minsk. The zinc coffin is placed inside a wooden outer crate labelled «Human Remains». We issue an official sealing certificate, signed by the responsible technician, which is presented to sanitary and customs authorities in Belarus, transit countries and Albania throughout the journey.
The apostille is issued by the Main Consular Directorate of the MFA of Belarus at 19 Lenina Street in Minsk. Belarus has been a Hague Convention member since 1992 and Albania since 2004, so the Belarusian apostille is recognised without additional consular legalisation. Standard issue time is 5–7 working days; through our lawyer filing in person at the MFA it is typically obtained within 1–2 working days.
Yes, an accompanying relative travels on the same flight or the nearest connection as a regular passenger, meets the body at Tirana Airport after customs and hands it over to the partner funeral home, or attends the burial directly. Belarusian citizens need an Albanian visa or a Schengen visa — Albania recognises multi-entry Schengen. We provide an invitation letter from the Albanian funeral director for expedited issuance.
Albania is not part of the Schengen area, but Belarusian citizens with a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa or EU residence permit can enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Without Schengen an Albanian national visa (E-type) is required — issued online via e-Visa Albania. For bereavement reasons processing is expedited to 3–5 working days. We provide the invitation and a copy of the death certificate.
Yes, our dispatch desk operates 24/7, including Belarusian and Albanian public holidays (Independence Day, Ramadan Bayram, Kurban Bayram, Christmas, Easter). ZAGS and the MFA are closed on weekends, so paperwork resumes on the next working day, but body preparation, embalming, zinc-coffin sealing and flight booking begin immediately. Call +375 29 314-59-59 at any time.
We handle this scenario every day. Under a notarised power of attorney from the family, our lawyer liaises with the clinic, the State Committee of Forensic Examinations and ZAGS. We help to reissue a lost passport through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and obtain residence certificates and the medical record. Body storage in our +2..+4 °C refrigerated facility is complimentary. The full package is normally ready in 2–3 working days.
