Road transportation
• Transportation of the body to Russia and the CIS:

Regardless of the mode of transportation (aircraft, road transport), delivery of cargo 200 is a highly responsible task, complex both documentarily and organisationally.
This procedure requires compliance with specific conditions (storage, transportation of the body) and involves the preparation of numerous permit documents for the transportation of cargo.
Repatriation of a deceased person from Belarus to Peru is a rare route linked primarily to descendants of Belarusian and Ukrainian Jews who emigrated to Peru in the 1920s-1940s and founded the Jewish community of Lima. Today their descendants — Asociación Judía del Perú — wish to bury relatives who died in Belarus at the Jewish cemetery in Lima. We also serve families of mining engineers and geologists working on joint Belarusian-Peruvian mining projects, and return home Peruvian tourists and students who passed away in Minsk.
Documentation in Belarus includes a Minsk ZAGS death certificate, State Forensic Committee medical report, Ministry of Health export permit and infection-free certificate. Peru joined the Hague Convention in 2010, so a Belarus MFA apostille (Lenina 19) is sufficient without consular legalisation. Documents are translated into Spanish by a sworn translator recognised by Colegio de Traductores del Perú. A sanitary certificate for DIGESA (Dirección General de Salud Ambiental) and a body import permit are additionally prepared for customs and sanitary clearance.
Logistics from Minsk-2 (MSQ) to Peru is a complex transatlantic route with two connections: Iberia via Madrid (MAD) to Lima (LIM) with Air Europa or LATAM onward — 22-26 hours; KLM via Amsterdam (AMS); Air France via Paris (CDG) to LIM; Lufthansa via Frankfurt (FRA) with LATAM connection via São Paulo; Turkish Airlines via Istanbul (IST) and then via Madrid or São Paulo. Main receiving airports: Lima Jorge Chávez (LIM), Cusco (CUZ) for tourists from Machu Picchu, Arequipa (AQP), Iquitos (IQT) in the Amazon, Trujillo (TRU).
On arrival in Peru the body clears SUNAT customs and DIGESA sanitary control. Our partner Peruvian funerarias (Funeraria Jardines de la Paz in Lima, Funeraria San José in Cusco, Finisterre in Arequipa) meet the cargo and coordinate with the Russian Embassy in Lima (Av. Salaverry 3424, San Isidro). The body is handed over for burial — for the Jewish community the rite is performed by Chevra Kadisha at the Lima Norte Jewish cemetery. For Catholic and Orthodox — Presbítero Maestro or Campo Fe. Highland areas (Cusco, Puno) require altitude climate considerations.
We operate 24/7 no days off — on Peruvian holidays (Navidad, Año Nuevo, Fiestas Patrias 28-29 July, Día del Trabajo 1 May, Santa Rosa de Lima 30 August, Combate de Angamos 8 October, Inmaculada Concepción 8 December, Semana Santa) and Belarusian ones. Repatriation cost from Minsk to Peru is 9200-11500 EUR. Fixed quote includes embalming, zinc coffin, documents with apostille, Spanish translations, air freight, SUNAT customs, DIGESA, funeraria handover. LATAM Perú or Sky Airline domestic flights add 400-800 EUR. Call +375 29 314-59-59.
We deliver to all major Peruvian cities: Lima (LIM), Cusco (CUZ), Arequipa (AQP), Trujillo (TRU), Iquitos (IQT) in the Amazon, Piura (PIU), Chiclayo (CIX), Tacna (TCQ), Cajamarca (CJA), Ayacucho (AYP), Puerto Maldonado (PEM). Onward by ground transport or LATAM Perú/Sky Airline domestic flight to any city. For highland regions (Cusco 3400 m, Puno 3800 m) we account for pressure differences and additional zinc coffin airtightness verification requirements imposed by altitude sanitary protocols.
In Belarus: ZAGS certificate, forensic report, Ministry of Health permit, infection-free certificate, embalming statement, zinc coffin sealing act. All with Spanish translation and MFA apostille. In Peru: DIGESA body import permit, SUNAT declaration, Russian consular note, Certificado de Defunción at RENIEC, municipal burial permit. For Jewish burials — Asociación Judía del Perú authorisation. The complete package is prepared turnkey in 3-5 days with Colegio de Traductores certified translations.
The full cycle from time of death to arrival in Lima is 5-7 days. Belarus processing with apostille and embalming — 2-3 days, transport to MSQ and cargo check-in — 1 day, flight with Madrid or Amsterdam connection — 22-26 hours. SUNAT customs and DIGESA sanitary control at LIM — 6-12 hours. For Cusco, Arequipa, Iquitos add a domestic segment of 1-3 hours. Time zone difference between Minsk and Lima is 8 hours, factored into planning for handover coordination across time zones.
Base cost to Lima (LIM) from 9200 EUR; to Cusco, Arequipa, Trujillo from 9700 EUR; to remote Amazon regions (Iquitos, Puerto Maldonado) or highlands from 10500 EUR. Quote includes embalming in Minsk, zinc coffin and outer wooden casket, full document package with apostille, Spanish translations, Iberia/KLM/Air France + LATAM air freight, SUNAT customs, DIGESA, funeraria handover. LATAM Perú domestic flights add 400-800 EUR depending on destination region.
Yes, a hermetically sealed zinc coffin is mandatory under DIGESA, IATA and Peruvian sanitary standards. In Minsk sealing is performed at the State Morgue or certified private agencies with an airtightness statement in Belarusian and Spanish. The zinc container is placed inside an outer wooden casket with 'Restos Humanos' marking. For highland burials (Cusco, Puno) additional airtightness verification is required due to pressure differentials. The funeraria in Lima has the right to open the zinc for velorio preparation.
The apostille is issued at the Main Consular Department of Belarus MFA at Lenina 19, Minsk. Booking via mfa.gov.by or in person, processing 1-3 working days, state fee one base unit. Peru has been a Hague Convention member since 2010, so an apostille is sufficient without consular legalisation. Spanish translation by a sworn translator from Colegio de Traductores del Perú is prepared in parallel. We handle the entire procedure with courier delivery of ready documents to office or home.

Yes, dispatch operates 24/7 all 365 days. On Peruvian holidays (Navidad 25 December, Año Nuevo, Fiestas Patrias 28-29 July — main national holiday, Día del Trabajo 1 May, Santa Rosa de Lima 30 August, Combate de Angamos 8 October, Inmaculada Concepción 8 December, Semana Santa, Todos los Santos 1 November) — SUNAT and DIGESA operate at airports, funerarias may close. Belarusian holidays halt ZAGS and MFA. Flights continue running without interruption via European hubs.
A typical situation for Peruvian tourists and students in Belarus — passport lost during travel around the country or at the educational institution. We immediately engage a lawyer to liaise with the Peruvian embassy in Moscow for an urgent salvoconducto (temporary return document), while Minsk ZAGS registers death on available data. Forensic examination follows the protocol. Body preparation and zinc coffin sealing begin immediately so as not to lose time while consular documentation is reconstructed via Moscow.
