Road transportation
• Transportation of the body to Russia and the CIS:

Regardless of the mode of transportation (aircraft, road transport), delivery of cargo 200 is a highly responsible task, complex both documentarily and organisationally.
This procedure requires compliance with specific conditions (storage, transportation of the body) and involves the preparation of numerous permit documents for the transportation of cargo.
Cyprus hosts a large Belarusian and Russian-speaking community — entrepreneurs with permanent residence, IT specialists, retirees on long-term residency, mixed families. When a relative dies in Belarus and loved ones wish to bury them in Cyprus next to family, or when a Cypriot resident of Belarusian origin passes away in Minsk, international repatriation must be organised. Our agency manages the full cycle: from collection at the Minsk morgue to handover to a Cypriot funeral director at Larnaca (LCA) or Paphos (PFO) airports and subsequent escort to the cemetery.
Documents are prepared in Minsk. The district ZAGS issues the death certificate based on the forensic opinion of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations. We obtain the sanitary passport, embalming certificate and zinc-coffin sealing certificate. The certificate is translated into English and Greek, notarised and apostilled at the MFA of Belarus. Cyprus is a party to the Hague Convention, so the Belarusian apostille is recognised without additional legalisation at the Cypriot Embassy, which speeds up the process and reduces costs for the family.
There are no direct flights from Minsk to Cyprus. Typical routings are Turkish Airlines via Istanbul to Larnaca or Paphos, LOT via Warsaw, Lufthansa via Frankfurt, Austrian via Vienna. Total travel time is 7–12 hours including the transfer at the hub. The zinc coffin is sealed at our ritual facility in Minsk, placed in a wooden outer crate marked «Human Remains»; supporting documents are duplicated in Greek and English. The Cypriot side requires confirmation of embalming and absence of infectious diseases.
On arrival in Larnaca or Paphos the shipment is met by our Cypriot partner. Customs clearance with apostilled documents takes 2–4 hours. The body is then transferred to the selected funeral home in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca or Paphos. Burial is available at Orthodox cemeteries of the Russian-speaking community, Catholic parishes; cremation is performed in specialised crematoria (Cypriot cremation capacity is limited; when necessary we arrange onward transfer to Greece). We coordinate Orthodox services at Russian churches across Cyprus.
Our dispatch desk operates 24/7. Call +375 29 314-59-59 for a fixed price without hidden fees, including the zinc coffin, embalming, all paperwork, apostille, air transport and handover in Cyprus. The average lead time is 4–6 working days. We accept bank transfers, work with insurers and corporate clients. We communicate with the family in Russian, Belarusian, English and Greek, help with invitation letters for accompanying relatives and guarantee a dignified arrival of your loved one on Cypriot soil.
We deliver to every city in Cyprus: Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ayia Napa, Paralimni, as well as tourist and mountain regions of Troodos. The main points of arrival are Larnaca International Airport (LCA) and Paphos International Airport (PFO). From the airport a partner funeral home hearse transports the body to the selected funeral parlour or directly to an Orthodox, Catholic or civil cemetery on the day of arrival.
In Belarus: the ZAGS death certificate, the forensic opinion from the State Committee of Forensic Examinations, the embalming and zinc-sealing certificates, the sanitary export passport, and the MFA apostille. In Cyprus: laissez-passer mortuaire, English and Greek translations, clearance from the Cypriot Ministry of Health and coordination with the cemetery or church parish. We prepare every translation and legalisation in advance.
The full cycle averages 4–6 working days. Documents with the MFA apostille take 2–3 days, body preparation and zinc-coffin sealing one day, flight booking and coordination with the Cypriot partner one day, the flight itself with transit via Istanbul, Warsaw or Vienna 7–12 hours, and customs at LCA or PFO another 2–4 hours. Urgent cases can be compressed to 3–4 days.
The price depends on the routing, carrier, weight, embalming requirements and urgency. We state a fixed price right away and lock it into the contract — no hidden fees. It includes the sealed zinc coffin, wooden outer crate, embalming, full paperwork, MFA apostille, English and Greek translations, airfare, customs clearance and handover in Cyprus. Call +375 29 314-59-59 for an individual calculation.
Yes, international air transport of human remains to Cyprus is performed exclusively in a hermetically sealed zinc coffin prepared at a certified ritual facility in Minsk. The zinc coffin is placed inside a wooden outer crate labelled «Human Remains». We issue an official sealing certificate, signed by the technician in charge, which is presented to sanitary and customs authorities in Belarus, the transit country and Cyprus.
The apostille is issued by the Main Consular Directorate of the MFA of Belarus at 19 Lenina Street in Minsk. Belarus has been a Hague Convention member since 1992, and Cyprus recognises the Belarusian apostille without additional consular legalisation. Standard issue time is 5–7 working days; through our lawyer, who files the documents in person at the MFA, the apostille is obtained within 1–2 working days, significantly accelerating the transfer.
Yes, an accompanying relative travels on the same flight as the shipment or on the nearest connection as a regular passenger. They meet the body at Larnaca or Paphos after customs clearance and hand it over to the partner funeral home, or attend the burial directly. Belarusian citizens usually need a Cypriot national visa or a Schengen visa — we provide an invitation letter from the Cypriot funeral director for expedited issuance.
Cyprus is not part of the Schengen area, but recognises double- or multiple-entry Schengen Category C visas for transit. For direct entry a Cypriot national visa is required — issued via the Embassy of Cyprus in Moscow or through the online pro-visa system. For bereavement reasons the visa is issued on an expedited basis in 2–5 working days. We provide the Cypriot funeral director’s invitation and a copy of the death certificate.
Yes, our dispatch desk operates 24/7, including Orthodox and state holidays of Belarus and Cyprus (Greek Easter, Assumption, Independence Day). ZAGS and the MFA are closed on weekends, so paperwork resumes on the next working day, but body preparation, embalming, zinc-coffin sealing and flight booking begin immediately upon first contact. Call +375 29 314-59-59 at any time.
This is a routine scenario, particularly for deaths at home on weekends. Under a notarised power of attorney from the family, our lawyer liaises with the clinic, the State Committee of Forensic Examinations and ZAGS. We help to reissue a lost passport via the Ministry of Internal Affairs and obtain residence certificates and the medical record. Body storage in our +2..+4 °C refrigerated facility is complimentary. The complete document set is normally ready in 2–3 working days.
